Ok a step by step on how to use my GLITTER STYLES in Photoshop.

This is also valid for ANY photoshop style like shadows, metals, felt etc…AVAILABLE HERE

CLICK HERE for installation in PSE 4-8 & Other programs

STEP 1:

First up go to WINDOW-STYLES so your styles palette is visible.

STEP2:

Go to load styles by clicking the small lines on the top right hand corner of the styles palette.

STEP3:

Open up anything you want to add glitter to.

STEP 4:

Make sure the element is selected, then click on the icon in the STYLES palette.

Tut

STEP 5:

To adjust the size of the glitter pattern simply double click the thumbnail, then adjust the pattern overlay %. I use 100% for designing. Always stick to 25%, 50% or 100% anything else will be blurry.

On a canvas any less dpi than 300 your glitter may look blurry. So adjust accordingly.

This star is 72 dpi. The style defaulted to 24% and was blurry at 100%.

Capture4

At 50% pattern it was perfect.

Capture5

Just use your eye and adjust till it looks good for YOU.

STEP 6:

Then open up the sparkles in the read me file and add to your project!

All done!

I am a new digital scrapper and I have PSE7 – do you have explicit directions for a newbie? I want to buy this whole metals package – it is just gorgious but I need to be able to use it or get very frustrated..
Love your work – Thank you

  • Littlemelch:

Hi – I’m venturing into styles for the first time after years with Photoshop and 1+ year digiscrapping. I’m adding glitter to text in a small graphic and it is blurry. Even after resizing per this tutorial. Does the image to which I’m applying your glitter need to be a minimum size for it to work well. I love your colors. I’m sure I’m doing something wrong. Thanks!!!

  • Joanna:

hi i love these black flowers and black glitters on your page…. do you have any freebie elements in color black? hey thanx :)

  • Carol:

For installing styles in PSE… try the free tutorials at Hummie’s World. PSE6 is a two step process. You save the Style file from Flergs in one folder, then you have to create a little extra file in another folder so that it shows up in your dropdown menu. Seriously, check out Hummie’s World because these glitters are really fun.

  • SANDRA:

If you have her glitters and are not using them you’re missing so much!!! i have a mac i hope this helps. Close Photoshop elements. Copy your style doc (.asl) [the little blue square with an fx on it]:

    Macintosh HD\Library\Application Support\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\6.0\Locale\en-US\Photo Creations\Layer Styles

start Photoshop elements again (it will take a while the first time to load them) and YOU WILL HAVE THEM ON YOUR FX WINDOWS…you can put the glitter on your letters, shapes, etc…add a drop shadow and you have your own ALPHA!!! enjoy!!!!

  • Gina you can use all glitters (except gel) in PSP and any other program. They come with sheets of glitter to just clip to the shape instead of using the style OR:

    For PSP users:

    1. Unzip the JPG files to the location of your choice.

    2. Open PSP. Open the JPG files from PSP.

    3. Place them in your patterns folder and they will automatically be available in your materials palette all the time.

Use patterns in fills, layer effects, as overlays, access via materials palette.

    Hope this helps!!

  • Gina:

I love your work and I would just love if you could create glitters for Paint Shop Pro X or higher.

  • sj9Bjz Thanks for good post

  • Teresa:

I have some of your glitters from your new Digitalkshop kit…and I can’t figure out who to save the glitters properly in order to use them. I read the file you had included on how to save them, but when I followed the path of where to save it, I didn’t have all the same files. I have PSE6. Any ideas? Either way, I love your new kit!

  • i purchased some of your glitters a long time ago and have neverfigured out how to use them. i thought this would help but i have photoshop elements so when i click on the window drop down menu i do not have the option of selecting style. i would get more of these if you could tell me how to use them!
    thanks
